Effective Hamiltonian, minimal orbits and combustion models
Abstract:
Completely different theories like the computation of
minmal periodic orbits for a given Lagrange function and
the homogenization of the turbulent
reaction-diffusion-transport equation are related to the
same nonlinaer eigenvalue problem for a Hamilton Jacobi
equation. This problem defines the effective Hamiltonian.
In this lecture we will discuss different methods for
computing this effective Hamiltonian.
