Kinetic schemes and applications to Saint-Venant shallow water system
Abstract:
Among the solvers used inthe method of
finite volume methods for hyperbolic systems,
Kinetic Solvers are peculiar. They are based on a
kinetic interpretation of the system (as scalar
conservation laws, gas dynamics, shallow water).
This presents several advantages: firstly they
have particularly well theory based stability and
entropy properties, secondly they allow coupling
between kinetic/fluid regions. Besides this
theory, we will present some applications to
shallow water system.
