Crack problems for solids with possible contact between crack faces
Abstract:
In the talk, nonlinear boundary problems describing cracks in solids are
considered. It is well known that the classical approach to the crack problem
is characterized by the equality type boundary conditions corresponding to the
stress-free surfaces. Peculiarity of the problems considered in the talk
is that we impose nonlinear boundary conditions at crack faces. These conditions
provide a mutual nonpenetration between the crack faces. From a general point of
view the models analysed have an analogy with contact problems with unknown
contact domains.
New results of the theory are assumed to be presented in the talk.
