Nonparametric Data Analysis and wall models in turbulence
Abstract:
Subgrid scale turbulence modeling is one of the most important
tasks in numerical fluid dynamics. With nonparametric data analysis,
it is possible to obtain generalized additive models from data. The
focus is put on the wall region, since there, the numerical problems
are biggest. For a first check, low Reynolds number data from a
direct numerical simulation are are analyzed.
