Finite element postprocessing and grid adaptation
Abstract:
Some recent results will be reported in this talk on some new grid
adaptation techniques using new estimates of finite element
interpolation and superconvergence and ideas from multigrid. A
concept of Delaunay triangulation with respect to a given convex
function will be first introduced and then some new (local as well as
global) adaptive techniques will be presented to generate an optimal
Delaunay triangulation for a given function. Some new superconvergent
postprocessing techniques will then be presented to facilitate the
grid adaptation. Finally several numerical examples will be given. The
talk is mostly based on joint works with Randy Bank and Long Chen.
