Poincare and related inequalities: a new approach and some applications
Abstract:
We present a method to derive improved Poincare inequalities as well as other related ones(such as Korn and inf-sup for the Stokes equations). Essentially we show that all those inequalities can be proved for very general domains once they are known for cubes.
We show how this method can be used to obtain new weighted Poincare inequalities and give some application to error analysis of singularly perturbed problems.
