Partial Differential Equations in Numerical Fluid Mechanics

The group develops and studies numerical methods for problems from Computational Fluid Dynamics, in particular convection-dominate problems, turbulent flows, and population balance systems. Main topics include stabilized finite element methods, variational multiscale methods, and implicit time-stepping schemes. Current applications come from chemical engineering (precipitation processes, synthesis of urea) and from meteorology (two-phase flows with droplets). |
